Simply Thank you – no stamping

This is the first card I have shown, made without stamping. It is so easy and simple to make. I was inspired to create today’s card after watching Justine Hovey’s video 9 ways to use Nuvo Drops.

So to begin, I did a lot of die cutting. Using the Simply Thank you die from Altenew, and white card stock. This will form the layers of the sentiment, giving it some depth.

I wanted to use Distress Oxides to create the backgrounds, from which I will cut the top layers.

Squeezed Lemonade, Crushed Olive & Wild Honey (right);Tattered Rose, Picked Raspberry & Seedless Preserves

Then die cut the sentiment again from both panels, these will be the focal point of the card.

I used some crystal glaze to give some extra shine.

I glued all the layers, creating some depth to the card, with distress oxide layer on top.

The panel with the negative cut out, I adhere this to a black piece of card stock, 1/4″ bigger to create a nice border.

I stuck my stacked sentiment into the negative with Tombow Mono Adhesive. Putting a weight like an acrylic block on top will help to make sure that it is stuck well and will not come away.

To finish the cards, I am using some Nuvo Drops for a subtle but light embellishment. The colours I used are Copper Penny, Bottle Green, Ebony Black, Raspberry Pink and Party Pink.

As you can see I was a bit impatient and touched the Nuvo drops before they had fully dried…🤦🏾‍♀️
